This year one of the most reputed Puja committees of the city has decided to bring the famous Lotus Temple of Delhi right here in Kolkata, near Gariahat. The Singhi Park Sarbojanin Durga Puja has created a replica of the Lotus Temple, also known as the Bahai Temple.
For Singhi Park, near Gariahat, it is their 65th year celebration. The pandal is a replica of the Lotus Temple, which in itself is a very rare work of art and design. The dome of the pandal has been shaped in the form a lotus. “The reason why we decided to create a pandal which resembles the lotus is because of partiotic feeling associated with it. After all, the lotus is the national flower of India. The pandal has been constructed by Dipti Decorators of Contai,” said Bhaskar Nandi, the Joint Secretary of the committee.
The main attraction, which is an electro-mechanically operated life-sized robot, is sure to draw more kids to this pandal.
The inside of the pandal has been decorated in a very innovative way. Hindu gods and goddesses like Ganesh and Buddha in their various forms have been shaped out of stainless steel.
